Hi, I’m Katie Heinemann

I’m an Aerospace Engineer / Software Engineer with a Passion for Spaceflight, Intelligent Software, & Human Health.

I have led the startup of water treatment plants around the world, built large scale web applications, and served in the Johns Hopkins Covid-19 crisis response.

Currently at NASA Johnson Space Center and Violet labs - Combining Aerospace Engineering and Public Health to serve the spaceflight community and advance human health back here on earth.

An Engineer on a Mission.

I am an aerospace engineer with a passion for creating engineering solutions for all aspects of spaceflight and bringing those solutions back to Earth for the benefit of human health and wellbeing.

In my master’s degree, I implemented a cloud-based software solution to study team performance for the NASA HERA project, earned a certificate in managing engineering risks, and gained an understanding of how the federal government sets goals and allocates funding. Before graduate school, I wrote machine controls code onsite commissioning water plants around the world for GE Power (now Veolia Water), have built large scale web applications for various startups, and contributed to publications at NASA.
